A Passion for Maternal Wellness
Hello, I’m Dr. Mary Thompson, a certified medical doctor in Nigeria and Georgia, and the Team/Operations Lead at MamasBloom. My journey in medicine and women’s health has been shaped by a deep passion for supporting mothers, children, and families through some of the most important transitions of their lives.
Joining Forces for Empowerment
In 2025, I joined the Acemedix Women’s Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering women across all stages of life. But my commitment to maternal and child health began much earlier.
Hands-On Clinical Experience
Between 2021–2023, during medical school in Georgia, I worked as an assistant junior O&G doctor, where I gained hands-on experience in labor wards, assisting in both cesarean sections and live vaginal births. These experiences strengthened my belief that every mother deserves compassionate, holistic care.
Building Empathy Through Service
My journey with mothers started even earlier, in 2017 in Debrecen, Hungary, where I co-facilitated a summer camp dedicated to mothers and their babies — especially those struggling to bond due to postpartum blues. There, I provided one-on-one coaching, emotional support, and created activities that helped strengthen mother–child connections. In 2018, I volunteered in Hungary through my church, working in the foster care system and supporting both children with developmental disabilities as well as mothers. I continued this work in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2023, focusing on community-based social care and family support. These experiences taught me empathy, patience, and the power of nurturing even in the most difficult circumstances.
Global Knowledge and Education
Beyond direct medical practice, I have pursued knowledge in maternal wellness on a global scale. I have attended and contributed to multiple international conferences on nutrition for mothers and children, held in Debrecen (Hungary), Tbilisi (Georgia), Vilnius (Lithuania), and Lagos (Nigeria). My love for children extends to education as well — in March to June 2024, organized by my university, University of Georgia, I led one-on-one medical coaching sessions with children and their parents, teaching them basic health practices in a fun, interactive way.
Blending Experiences at MamasBloom
Today, through MamasBloom, I blend all these experiences — clinical, social, educational and personal — into a safe, supportive space where mothers and women can access personalized health, wellness, and lifestyle services. My vision is simple: when mothers bloom, entire families and communities thrive.
What Drives My Heart
I am a doctor, but I am also a listener, nurturer, and advocate. My heart beats for: Supporting women through the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy and postpartum, Helping mothers find strength and confidence in themselves, Creating communities where no woman feels left behind, Inspiring healthier, happier families through nutrition, fitness, mental wellness, and holistic care. I lead with empathy, integrity, and determination. Whether I am in a delivery room, coaching a mother, mentoring children, or speaking at a conference, my goal is always the same: to serve with love and excellence.
A Glimpse Into My World
🌸 My hobbies include; I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, I’m an avid reader and lifelong learner, I adore children and find joy in connecting with them, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes (and yes, sharing meals is my love language), I relax by watching movies and spending quality time with family and friends. Most importantly, I strive to live a life of purpose, service, and joy. ✨ I am honored that you are here. Thank you for allowing me to share my journey with you. I would love to connect with you — not just as a doctor, but as a fellow woman who believes in the power of community, healing, and growth. Together, let’s create a world where mothers and women everywhere can truly bloom. 🌼
